DiM resetting
Tutorial about resetting a DiM card
These methods were worked out by the individuals credited below. The purpose of this procedure is to allow a DiM to be used by another Vital Bracelet after it has already been used. This can be performed on the Vital Bracelet to which the DiM is currently registered, or on the device you wish to newly associate it with. To see pictures of the processes, click on the twitter handles for your specific firmware.
Warning
Your Vital Bracelet may factory reset during these operations, so backup any Digimon you wish to save to the Vital Bracelet Lab app before beginning. Do not attempt this if you aren’t okay with losing your progress.
Checking your Firmware Version
- Read all the steps before proceeding. If you deviate from these steps, you may factory reset. Always backup your Digimon to the app first to be safe.
- Turn off your Vital Bracelet
- Hold A+B while turning the device on (A is the top button, B is the bottom one)
- Press B four times
- The firmware version will appear on screen. The firmware can be read like a date, so 21 0225 would be 25 February 2021. Proceed to the section that matches your firmware version.
If you cannot view the firmware, you unfortunately cannot reset your DiM card. Digivice -V- models that were being delivered toward the end of 2021, along with all Vital Bracelet Character models and Vital Hero, do not have an unlock method. Earlier shipments of the Digivice -V- will work with the first method below.

Read all the steps before proceeding. If these steps are properly followed, your save data should remain intact. Always backup your Digimon to the app first to be safe.
- Follow the steps to check your Firmware Version.
- Firmware screen: Ensure your firmware is 21 0225 or higher. If so, press A. If it is 20 1125, go to step 3 of the next list. If it is a later version, this procedure should still work, but that can’t be guaranteed.
- Press and hold the B button to go to the next screen. Repeat doing so until you reach a screen with an “x” in the lower left corner.
- Insert the DiM card you wish to disassociate. A hex number should appear. Press the A button and wait.
- If the screen says OK, the process was successful and you can remove the DiM. If it says NG, the process did not work. You can try again, or choose to attempt the method in the next list.
- Remove the DiM and switch the device off.
The DiM card should now be disassociated, and can be used with another device.
